OUR GOAL

WE BELIEVE IN PROVIDING educational opportunities for highly motivated students who are part of historically underrepresented groups (i.e., Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, low-income, first generation, and/or persons of color). Seeking Opportunities At Rivers (SOAR) gives students an inside look at the independent school experience during their Grade 6 or Grade 8 year. SOAR Scholars will participate in a two-day introductory program designed to give them early access to the many resources The Rivers School has to offer. Our goal is to engage and get to know your students in a setting that seeks to draw out their full potential.

OUR COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE WITH HUMANITY

THE RIVERS SCHOOL is a learning environment that challenges every student to achieve their highest academic potential while emphasizing a strong sense of belonging for all.

Along with core academic subjects, arts and music are integral aspects of the curriculum. Outside the classroom, we encourage students to pursue their passions through internships and clubs for hands-on learning. Rivers’ athletics teams are inclusive and competitive, reflecting our ethos of Excellence with Humanity.

A Rivers education prepares students to engage in an increasingly complex world that needs their intellect, strong voices, cultural dexterity, integrity, and perseverance.

We invite educators and friends of the school to partner with us by nominating eligible students for the SOAR Scholars program!

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

SOAR SCHOLARS MUST be in sixth or eighth grade at the time of programming and demonstrate the following:

Consistent academic performance, with a B+ average or above
