    Lucy Kapples has a BS in psychology from Georgetown University. She worked for three years in the US Senate and then 13 years for Thermo Electron Corporation as a software developer and HRIS manager. A substitute teacher and community volunteer, Lucy joined the Rivers admission office in the fall of 2014.

    Paul Karasch came to Rivers in 1990 and has served in many capacities during his tenure. Paul is currently the director of Camp Nonesuch, the assistant director of technology, and the head coach of the varsity cross-country and track and field teams. Paul previously taught biology, life science, physics, and global science and served as chair of the science department. Before coming to Rivers, Paul taught in the Peace Corps in Tonga and at the Rock Point Community School in Arizona. He received an AB in biology with a minor in religious traditions in music from Wabash College and an MEd from the University of Massachusetts.

    Inger Karlsson joined the Advancement Office in 2017 as Campaign Coordinator. She has previously served in campaign-focused roles at The Chestnut Hill School and at The Winsor School. Inger holds an A.B. in Economics from Princeton University and an M.A. in Educational Leadership, Politics and Advocacy from NYU. She resides in Waban with her husband and their three children.

    Stephanie Kay, a Rivers graduate, taught History for three years at Beaver Country Day School before joining Rivers. Previously, she taught English at the Meadowbrook School of Weston. She earned a B.A. in History and Classical Studies from Brandeis University and an M.A. in History from North Carolina State University. In addition to teaching Upper School History at Rivers, Stephanie advises The Edge student newspaper and serves as head JV girls’ lacrosse coach.

    Sally Kellogg joined the women’s USTA 4.5 team in 1995 and helped the team earn the national championship title in 2012. In addition, she played on the women’s 4.5 senior team from 2009-2011 and captained that squad to their successful bid for the 2012 national championship senior title. She holds a BA in elementary education and physical education from Hastings College in Nebraska. She has coached various sports in the Wellesley school system.

    Cellist Eugene Kim has enjoyed a distinguished teaching career. He is the 2019 recipient of the Jean Stackhouse Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Preparatory Division of New England Conservatory. His students have performed concerti with the Boston Symphony (under Andris Nelsons), the Boston Pops (under Keith Lockhart), the NEC Youth Philharmonic and Youth Symphony Orchestras, the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the New England Philharmonic, as well as numerous other Boston area orchestras. An active Boston-area performer, he has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra as an extra player, as well as the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, Boston Ballet, Boston Lyric Opera and the Boston Landmarks Orchestra. Eugene has been guest principal cellist with the Boston Philharmonic, Boston Classical Orchestra and the Pro Arte Chamber Ensemble. Formerly, he was the principal cellist of the Vermont Symphony. In addition to his serving on the faculties of the New England Conservatory Preparatory Division and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Eugene was formerly a member of the faculties of UMASS/Boston and Brandeis University. Eugene received a BA magna cum laude with highest honors from Harvard University and a master's degree from New England Conservatory. He has studied with cellists Andres Diaz, Colin Carr, Laurence Lesser, and Carter Brey.

    Yoshiko joined Rivers in 2012 as a Chamber Coach with a very deep background in classical piano.  Before Rivers Yoshiko was a Piano Faculty member at The Winsor School and the Winchester Community Music School. She holds music degrees in Classical Piano Performance from the Toho-Gakuen College of Music in Tokyo, Japan and the New England Conservatory.

    Jenny Jun-lei Kravitz comes to Rivers from The Pike School, where she serves as director of equity and justice, leading comprehensive DEIJ initiatives and programming across the institution. She earned a BA in biology from Tufts University and an M.A. degree in biological sciences from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She completed a master’s degree in diversity and inclusion leadership at Tufts University, where her graduate research focused on Indigenous support and institutional decolonization in higher education. She has partnered with both the Anti-Defamation League and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Safe Schools Initiative and has also been appointed to DEI advisory roles for Tufts University, the Town of Westford, and the Town of Andover, where she currently serves on the DEI Commission. Jenny lives in Westford with her partner, Paul, and their two children. As a multiracial family, they embrace and celebrate a mixed heritage of Cantonese, Jewish, and German cultures.
