It’s been another great fall season here at Rivers!
Girls’ varsity cross country finished their season this past Saturday and placed second at the 2024 NEPSTA Division 3 Championships. Kendra Snell ’28 (14th; 20:44) earned All-New England honors. Girls’ JV cross country also placed second, led by Isla Scott ’28, who won the JV race with a time of 22:15.
Boys’ varsity cross country also finished their season on Saturday, placing sixth overall at the 2024 NEPSTA Division 3 Championships. Jason Minicozzi ’26 (3rd; 16:40), Justin Jang ’25 (16th; 17:44), and Alex Young ’25 (17th; 17:49) all earned All-New England honors for their performances.
Varsity football finished their season on Saturday with a 46-13 loss to undefeated ISL champions BB&N.
NEPSAC tournament brackets are set. Rivers is one of only four schools (Loomis, BB&N, Greens Farms) in New England with all four teams qualifying for postseason play. Volleyball and field hockey will host home quarterfinal games this Wednesday, while girls’ and boys’ soccer both travel to Suffield Academy.
Varsity volleyball finished the regular season 14-2 and earned the #2 seed in Class B. They will host #7 Williston Northampton on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. for a quarterfinal matchup.
Varsity field hockey finished the regular season 12-3-2 and earned the #4 seed in Class B. They will host #5 Cushing Academy on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. for a quarterfinal matchup.
Girls’ varsity soccer finished the regular season 10-7-1 and earned the #5 seed in Class B. They will travel to #4 Suffield Academy on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. for a quarterfinal matchup.
Boys’ varsity soccer finished the regular season 8-7-2 and earned the #8 seed in Class B. They will travel to #1 Suffield Academy on Wednesday at 2:45 p.m. for a quarterfinal matchup.
