• What is Giving Day?

  Giving Day is a participation challenge, so it is not focused on raising a specific dollar amount. Rather, the day is all about community engagement and promoting the importance of giving back. It’s a way to build excitement and motivate everyone to become active participants in supporting our community, faculty, and students. Gifts of every size matter, with each one bringing us that much closer to our goal.

• Where does my gift go?

  Every gift made on our Day of Giving goes toward The Rivers Fund, which currently accounts for roughly 10% of our operating budget. It supports every element of daily life on campus and helps offset any unexpected costs that may arise in a given year.

• How can I help Giving Day be a real success?

  Spread the word! Tell your classmates, family, and Rivers friends that you’ve made a gift, and encourage them to give as well. Share your enthusiasm on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or Snapchat, using the hashtag #LoveRivers #525. Send an email; text a friend. Lending your voice to this philanthropic effort will help us reach our ultimate goal: 525 gifts to The Rivers Fund.

• How can I make a gift in memory or honor of someone?

  Making a gift in honor or memory of someone affiliated with Rivers is easy! When making an online gift, simply fill in the section “Gift in memory of” or “Gift in honor of” before submitting your gift. When making a gift on Venmo, please include the language “In memory of” and then add the name of the person you wish to memorialize. The individual or the family will be notified when a gift is made in their honor.
